Infection:
The virus has been seen 'in the wild' and is transfered as usual via
E-mail attachment. The name of the .DOC-file or more information about the
infection mail is not known yet.
Payload:
If an infected word-document is closed inthe year 2000, 'Lenni' tries
to format your C: drive. The virus discloses its identity on several days:
- January: 1st, 10th, 20th
- April: 1st
- August: 4th
- October: 31th
On these days a warning appears on the screen, which indicates the user
the existence of an 'Millenium-Virus':
Remarks:
The Virus can be identified by the Sophos-program Anti-Virus (version
3.33) and will be removed. A download is possible: Sophos
