Burn Speed
We recorded how long it took to cram a CD full with 650MB of data. The software we use for this test is DAO (Disc At Once), and by measuring the time we can calculate the exact burning speed for both CD-Rs and CR-RWs. Here are the results (with reference valuse):
CD-R:
CD-RW:
We can see that for burning blank CD-Rs, the Plexwriter edges out the previous champion, the LG CED-8120B, but still remains about 7% below the 12x
mark.
Unfortunately, we hav no references to compare the CD-RW speed with. The closest we have is the CED-8120B, but it only rewrites at 8x. If we grant the CED-8120B a generous extra 25%, it only beats the PleXWriter by a few tenths.
