Cyberdrive 482D Cyberdrive 482D: For the audio-grabbing we are using the Audio Catalyst. The advantage of this program is, that it shows the grabbing speed. This speed varies with the position of the track on the CD. The inner tracks are grabbed slower than the outside tracks. Here are the grabbing speeds for the Cyberdrive 482D drive:
In comparison with the so far tested drives the Cyberdrive 482D is the fastest grabber (Mitsumi ahs a maximum grabbing speed of 9,33-.fold and the Artec drive 8-fold).Experiences show, that good grabbing drives can reach values between 15-20 fold. So this drive is placed in the upper area In this test feature the Cyberdrive 482D looses. There is
no added software and no driver diskette. The installation manual proves
this with the fact, that you can download a driver from the internet, if
you have problems. Now there is the question, what a buyer of this drive
with no internet access should do? We think it is easier to put a driver
diskette to the drive, so the user can solve driver problems at once. The
installation manual satisfies normal requirements. All interesting aspect
are short mentioned.
